Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tuticorin, organised a training programme on prevention and collection of bad debt on its premises on Friday.

During the programme, an emphasis was laid on how to collect money from customers when the product was sold for credit in the market. Speaking on the occasion, Gerard Assey, the resource person, stressed the need for cultivating the habit of maintaining smooth relationship between the buyer and seller for improving the business standard.

To uphold the virtue of business acumen, the business entrepreneurs should be aware of how bad debt occurs and what steps are necessarily required to prevent bad debts.

Referring to the benefits of paying on time, Mr. Gerard highlighted the merits and demerits of dealing with customers in terms of buying and selling his or her own products in the market. Managing credit and collecting your money from the customers were the vital factors which could decide the fate of business, he said while referring to various stages of credit management system.
