The Tamilar Veera Vilayattu Peravai has appealed to the Central and State Governments to relax all the conditions laid for conducting ‘Jallikattu’ (taming of bulls).

Peravai’s State President P Rajasekaran told newspersons at suburb Tiruverumbur last night that the present conditions, especially a caution deposit of Rs two lakh, laid down for conducting the event were impractical and a big hurdle for protecting the traditional game of Tamil Nadu which were conducting for the last several centuries.

He also suggested that the event could be conducted on regular basis by the government machinaries.

Appealing to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to extend all possible help for conducting Jallikattu, he said the Public Works Department should provide all infrastructure support to the events.
