Heavy rain is expected to lash Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours beginning 0830 hrs today as a trough of low pressure still persists over Bay of Bengal, met officials said today.
“A trough of low pressure extending from south west bay to west central bay off Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu coast still persists. Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Coastal Tamilnadu and Puducherry during the next 48 hours starting from 8.30 am”, met officials said.
Fishermen were also warned not to venture into the sea as strong onshore winds with speed reaching 45-55 kmph is likely along off Tamilnadu and Puducherry coasts.
