Tamanna speaks about their love rumours

Awara paiya remakeRecently there were rumours that Thamanna is in love with Karthi. But both are denying this rumour. But in spite of this the rumors are still doing its rounds. Karthi and Thamanna paired in the film Paiyya. Now they are once again pairing in the film Siruthai. Because of this there is a serious doubt.

There are news that Thamanna got this chance only because of Karthi’s recommendations. When asked Thamanna about this she vehemently refused. She said,” Karthi and I are good friends. It was a beautiful experience working in Paiyya. We felt like laughing when we heard the rumours that we are in love.

I don’t understand that why they are spreading rumours like this. Since we are working together in the same field, it is natural for such rumours to crop up. Because of this I did not take it serious. My concentration is on cinema only now. After acting in good films and receiving lot of awards I will get married.”

Danush is particular to have Tamanna as his pair

Tamanna

While Danush wants only Tamanna to pair with him, Tamanna taking this opportunity has made her salary above 10 million mark.

Tamanna is in great demand now in Kollywood. Most of the actors wants her to be their pair. Adding more value for her, she will be the pair for Kamal in his next movie.

Tamanna did a small research in finding out how other babes in Kollywood were able to shine as No 1. She did a deep research on Nayanthara and found that Nayans dance with Rajini got her that place. She too is so adament to pair with Rajini in his next project. She is putting lots of pressure on her manager to get that opportunity. She is now ready to give anything of hers if there is any one who can get her an opportunity to pair with Rajini.

Tamanna is also targeting Telugu industry, as she feels even if Kollywood fails to support her, it will be Tollywood which will hold her up.

Tamanna speaks to media after Sura success

sura49What are the feedbacks that you are getting on Sura?
Well, Honestly, I never do a post-mortem of my films after the release. I am open to criticism and I take each and every feedback-good or bad in the right sense.

Where did you watch the film?
I watched it on the opening day along with audiences in PVR, Mumbai.

They say you had nothing to do and was just the glamour quotient in the film. Please comment?
I have never planned my career. Everything happened for the good. As a heroine, I can’t afford to be selective and Indian cinema is mainly male-dominated. Unlike Hollywood where scripts are written for heroines, here we just play second fiddle to heroes. And I don’t see anything wrong in it as all top actresses at one point of their career has done the same. As far as Sura goes, it was a pleasant experience for me. Vijay was very sweet. I enjoyed working with the entire unit.

How was it working with Vijay?
I was very excited to be a part of a Vijay film and was looking forward to dancing with him. It’s a pleasure to watch how gracefully and effortlessly he dances. I admire his cool and professional ways.

Were you able to relate to the character of Poornima that you played in the film?
(Smiles) No, I am not so stupid in real life to contemplate suicide if I lost my dog. It is a fantasy character who is unrealistic and funny. I had a blast in the comedy scenes with Vadivel. He used to give me valuable tips and I used to converse with him in my broken Tamil and sign language.

Do you think that you wore a bit too revealing costumes?
No, I have certain parameters when it comes to my costumes. I will only wear clothes, in which I am comfortable. The idea was indeed to look glamorous and Priya Manikandan my costume designer has done a good job. Please remember that even in Kedi till Ayan I have worn glamorous outfits in songs.

You are crowned as the numero uno actress in Kollywood today, after the super success of Paiyaa . Please comment
I am happy to hear that. But frankly, I am not a competitive person at all. I believe in my work speaking for myself. This entire talk of number one or five does not bother me. What really matters is that over a period of time, has your work being appreciated or not? I am always trying to better my performance and learn from mistakes.

So you don’t watch movies of other stars?
Oh yes, I do whenever I get time. Trisha was fantastic in Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya while Kajal Aggarwal was very good in the recent Telugu film Darling.

Are you a fun-loving person?
I am like any other 20-year old girl. When I am not shooting and is in Mumbai I go out for movies, malls and restaurants with my bunch of friends and have a ball.

What would you credit your success to besides God and destiny?
My hard work. I never give up (smiles)

Karthi: Tamanna is better then Kareena Kapoor

Paiya3Even as rumour mills working overtime saying Karthi Sivakumar and Tamannah are seeing each other, the ‘Paiyaa’ hero has said that he was awestruck by the complexion of his ladylove in the movie.

“When I was working as an assistant to Mani Ratnam, Kareena Kapoor stunned me with her skin tone on the sets of ‘Yuva’. But I later realised that Tamanna is fairer than Kareena when I met her first for Paiyaa,” the young actor has said in an interview.

He added: “The girl was so fair that she was shining bright than the white dress she was wearing. I admire her a lot.” Karthi is however careful in denying reports on his alleged relationship with Tamannah.

“Some say I have recommended her for my forthcoming film. There is no truth in it and Tamannah no more needs recommendations. The makers of the movie, who felt that our chemistry was great in ‘Paiyaa’, decided to cast us together again,” he said.

Sura movie Review

sura43

Movie

Sura

Director

SP Raajakumar

Music

Mani Sharma

Cast

Vijay, Tamanna ah, Dev Gill, Vadivelu

The promos looked like it was just another Vijay film. There was hardly any pre-release buzz around the film. However Sura has turned out to be rollicking fun. Yes, it is much better than any of Vijay’s recent films and can be said to be a time pass clean family entertainer.

Conviction can bring any formula to life, as proved by the story, screenplay and direction of SP Raajakumar. It is a mass formula movie purely chiselled around Vijay’s larger than life image, and packaged to suit the taste of his fans. The cardinal rule of the game is not to look for logic or reason, just sit back, relax and enjoy.

The story is wafer thin and as old as the Kodai hills. The writer director’s presentation of Vijay’s mass image- punchline dialogues, fights, comedy, terrific dance movements, Amma sentiments, rich girl falling in love with poor boy and songs work with the viewers.

Sura (Vijay) is a daring, dashing do-gooder fisherman who is the savior of Yazh Nagar, a fishing hamlet. He loves his mother and helps the poor and needy like buying a dozen pens from a blind couple who are trying to eke out a living. A rich girl Poornima (Tamannaah), who tries to commit suicide (because her dog has gone missing!) by walking into the sea, is saved by our hero. Yup, she falls madly in love with him after seeing his large heartedness and his kind nature!

Enter villain, Samudra Raja (Dev Gill) an old fashioned smuggler and now a minister. He wants to grab the land where the fishermen huts are situated and build a theme park there. The rest of the story is all about how Sura using his brains and tact defeats Raja’s machinations and walks into the sunset by the sea holding the hands of his lady love.

Phew! This story has been cyclostyled a thousand times by filmmakers down the ages to make Tamil formula films from the days of MGR, Rajinikanth and now Vijay. There is nothing new in the story, but it is all about packaging and the charisma of its hero.

Take a chill pill, and enjoy the amazing screen presence of Vijay, the one man entertainment troupe. Ranging through a wide field of comedy, dance and song, action and son-mother sentiments, the star shines in this outrageous masala dosa of an entertainer that will surely appeal to a broad spectrum of his fans.

Tamannaah like all heroines in superstar movies is pure eye candy- looks cute, wears revealing outfits and dances with him in foreign locales and seems to be enjoying it. The new villain Dev Gill (Maghadheera fame) is menacing and is a welcome addition to North Indian “bad guys in Kollywood.”

Vadivel seems to have run out of ideas and his comedy track sticks out like a sore thumb. Songs of Mani Sharma are apt for the film with Thanjavur Jillakari… being the pick of the lot. Ekambaram’s wide angel shots of the blue ocean are eye catching. The film at 167 minutes could have been trimmed by 10 minutes.

On the whole Sura is a roller coaster ride of pure unadulterated masala.

Tamanna speaks about Sura Movie

sura42Sura which is presented by Sun Pictures is all set for release on 30th April. Thamanna who is eagerly waiting for the release of this film said,” For the first time I am pairing with Vijay in Sura.

People who saw the trailer and advertisements say that our pair is super. People who saw the song Naan Nadanthal say that we both are very stylish. I should be thankful to director S P Rajkumar and cameraman Ekambaram for this. Vijay is a simple type. I will take time to understand the dialogue and then act.

Vijay will waiting patiently and cooperate with me. I should tell definitely about comedy. There will be always importance for comedy in Vijay films. He himself will do a lot of comedy. What else can we expect if Vadivelu joins with him? Rajkumar also told me to do comedy. I got scared.

How is it possible for me to do comedy with them? But Vijay encouraged me a lot and I acted in these scenes. These scenes have come out well and will be entertaining. About the unit, I always got the best unit in Tamil cinema.

In that way I should say that I am lucky. Whatever problems you have outside, you should forget once you come here. The unit is very helpful in this. The unit is the main reason fro completing Sura on time.”

Paiyaa to break Pokkiri movie record

Paiya5Remember, when Vijay’s ‘Pokkiri’ was released, the theatres were house-packed for the first 25 days, setting a great record at box office. In all likelihood, Karthi’s recent release ‘Paiyya’ is all set to bringing home the bacon with the similar style. The film was released during first week of April that was followed by summer vacations. Doubtlessly, the film is turning to be a top-drawer across all the centres. The producers have openly admitted the report with the centres of release across the City, NSC and overseas areas, where the shows are houseful. It’s evident that Karthi would surely hop-skip into the main league of superstars within short span of time. On the equivalencies, it’s turning to be a heavy downpour of praises for Cloud Nine Productions and director Lingusamy for their fantabulous showpiece.
